Week 7: Learning, Adventure and Coming Home

Updated: Feb 19

Welcome to Week 7

We hope you all had a lovely mid-term break. After a fantastic Annual Family Camp, we are now back into the swing of school life. Please note that invoices for next term have been sent out. Please check your email to make sure they were received.

This Week

  • Valentine’s Day at Halio - Alhena and Grace have organised a school-wide Valentine’s celebration, including card giving and writing and poetry competitions.

  • Mr Francis Update - We are very pleased to share that Mr Francis is now out of hospital after experiencing a transient ischaemic attack (TIA). He will return to school next week on reduced duties. He was extremely thankful for the love, care, and messages he received from parents and students.

  • Café Thursday - The café will be open today and run by Harris, Alisa, and Sarah. They are selling waffles and honey lemon soda.

Trips

  • Lower Primary will be heading to Suan Son Beach for an afternoon of fun and exploration. The Hummingbirds and Sabertooth group will also have the option of traveling to the Hua Hin train station and taking the train to the beach after exploring the stations.

  • Upper Primary will go swimming at Hampton Swimming and Fitness. Please ensure your child brings swimwear, a towel, and a change of clothes.

Highlights from Last Week

  • It was wonderful to welcome Adam Ippolito to our school. There was a lovely atmosphere during the concert, and we would like to thank the parents who joined us and helped make the event so special.

  • The main highlight from the week was our Annual Camp.

The day trip to Pa La-U offered a perfect start to the camp and great balance of fun and challenge.

.

This was followed by our overnight camp, where students put up their tents, sang songs around the fire and enjoyed free water play. They learned how to use maps and compasses, practised first aid and water safety, and took part in radio communication activities using walkie-talkies. Students also built fires, fished, did yoga, and enjoyed spending time learning together outdoors. Thank you to all the parents who attended camp and who helped to make it such a fantastic and memorable experience.

  • Students attending the day camp also took part in a range of inspiring activities, including water fights, story reading, Japanese-inspired sandwich making, campfire with sausage and marshmallow roasting, bike riding, and a visit to Hin Lek Fai Viewpoint.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Warm regards,

Mr. Vincent and Halio Team
