Welcome to this week's Penguin Post!

It has been another busy and exciting week in Kindergarten, with the children continuing to learn through creativity, exploration, and play. From swimming lessons and colourful bubble experiments to imaginative storytelling and music, there have been plenty of opportunities for the kindergarteners to build new skills while having fun. We hope you enjoy reading about their latest adventures and what they have to look forward to this week.

This Week

This week in Kindergarten, there are many exciting activities for the children to look forward to. Here are the main ones. For this week's Wednesday activity, the kindergarteners will be making their own designs using air-dried clay, giving them the chance to get creative and create their own unique models.

For Friday's trip, the kindergarteners will visit Sirinart Rajini Mangrove Park. The park is home to many fascinating animals, including mudskippers, crabs, butterflies, and monitor lizards. The children will have the opportunity to explore the mangrove ecosystem and even feed the monitor lizards.

Please ensure your child brings a hat, sunscreen, comfortable trainers or sneakers, and a water bottle for the trip.

Highlights from Last Week

On Monday, we were treated to a wonderful violin performance by our two volunteers, Sophie and Ethan. After performing during Circle Time, they generously answered students' questions and were fantastic role models, inspiring many of our young musicians.

They returned on Wednesday to perform again at the Halio Café alongside the Halio Band. The band performed several well-known songs and demonstrated just how much they have progressed over the term.

On Thursday, the kindergarteners practised their hand-eye coordination and colour recognition by playing a stacking cups card game.

They teamed up for a friendly competition, using cards to match the cups before racing to ring the bell ahead of the other team. The children had a fantastic time taking part while developing their teamwork and observation skills.

For Friday's trip, the kindergarteners visited Hampton Swimming Pool to continue their swimming lessons with Hua Hin Swim School.

Due to illness, there was only one swimming instructor, so Mr Chad travelled to Hampton to help support the lessons. As there were fewer students attending, he was able to assist before returning to school.

During the lesson, the swim coach challenged the children to retrieve toys from the bottom of the pool to develop their underwater confidence and diving skills. The students also took part in friendly swimming and kicking races, making the lesson both enjoyable and challenging.

Classes from Last Week

Last week was full of fun as the kindergarteners continued their exciting classes, including Hands and Hearts, Project Play, Tales and Treasures, and Music.

In Tales and Treasures with Mrs Sara, the kindergarteners continued to express their creativity by making colourful crafts. They began the class with a fictional story about shapes and royalty before using rulers and different shapes to design clothing for cardboard kings and queens.

In Music with Mr Tommy, the kindergarteners were in perfect harmony as they took part in a variety of interactive songs. It was a wonderful musical lesson, with the children enthusiastically singing, moving, and joining in throughout.

The kindergarteners continued to express themselves while learning new skills throughout the week. We are truly ending the week on a high note.

In Project Play with Ms Celden, the children explored the exciting world of bubbles. They experimented with different colours, with pink and blue proving especially popular, and used an electric whisk to create even bigger bubbles. Many of the kindergarteners then used their imaginations to create their own spas, making foot baths, bubble potions, and even experimenting to see if they could make "snow" using the whisk.

In Hands and Hearts with Mr Chad, the kindergarteners created their own stories with the help of a worksheet. They used different names, places, and objects to build imaginative stories of their own. Afterwards, they played a game where students shared whether they liked different things—for example, ice cream—encouraging them to practise speaking, listening, and expressing their own opinions.
