Risks and Challenges and Building Self-Confidence

Confidence is among the most important skills that we can give our children, and certainly most parents want their children to be confident above anything else. Assessing risk and taking on challenges is the best way for children to build their confidence. Whether they succeed or fail, they have learned more about themselves and their ability, and this drives the building of their self-awareness and self-confidence.

Halio kids are allowed to use tools to accomplish tasks, build structures to their liking, and work on school projects to develop stamina and endurance. Our own mini-adventure playground allows children to create and explore new ways to climb and play and discover. Although many parents don't like to see their children engage in dangerous behavior, preventing this activity may be crippling them.

Working for "money"

When projects arise on campus, children have the opportunity to get involved and sometimes this involves physical labor. This experience builds strength and resilience.
